With funding from The Savoy Educational Trust, Loughborough College unveiled its brand-new academy training kitchens at the Radmoor Centre last month. These state-of-the-art facilities are designed to equip Hospitality and Catering students with the skills needed to thrive in modern professional kitchens.

We were absolutely delighted to see the kitchens in action for the Springboard Futurechef local finals – a competition also support by the Trust. Over 100 guests including passionate foodies and members of the local hospitality industry attended the Ulster University Culinary Salon on Tuesday evening, which was both a unique dining experience for guests and a memorable learning experience for students, who had the opportunity to cook alongside Ken. We’ve seen that students who have the opportunity to work with industry through projects like Hospitality Connect and Springboard go on to develop careers in hospitality, but giving support at grassroots level and allowing students at secondary school to study hospitality and catering in the classroom bolsters these chances further.
