Loughborough College unveils cutting-edge training kitchens for catering students

With funding from The Savoy Educational Trust, Loughborough College unveiled its brand-new academy training kitchens at the Radmoor Centre last month. These state-of-the-art facilities are designed to equip Hospitality and Catering students with the skills needed to thrive in modern professional kitchens.

We were absolutely delighted to see the kitchens in action for the Springboard Futurechef local finals – a competition also support by the Trust. Angela Maher, Chief Executive Officer at Savoy Educational Trust, reviews the efforts being made in schools to present hospitality as a credible career choice for young people.

We’ve seen that students who have the opportunity to work with industry through projects like Hospitality Connect and Springboard go on to develop careers in hospitality, but giving support at grassroots level and allowing students at secondary school to study hospitality and catering in the classroom bolsters these chances further. Craft Guild of Chefs celebrates 19 winners at 30th anniversary awards ceremony

Held on Monday 24th June at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London, the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards were attended by more than 800 of hospitality’s leading lights and the Craft Guild of Chefs’ royal patron HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh.
